attended starring finale ystd. started at 12pm and the programmes were super slacked one. met up with wanning and friend to go to IS tgt. only me, min wei (luckily she came), don, thomas, try, and afew other newbies came from our group. as for the facis, walter, william and lysias came. btw i heard that alan and xiu wen are together! out of all ppl. haha so scandalous.
ok so my group was like trying to sabo me up the stage for everything! everytime they need ppl to go on stage to play games, present, they shout my name and it's super annoying. luckily walter and min wei stood by me and we sort of escaped tgt! we went to the li ka shing librabry to check my bidding result! I GOT MY AS/CT AND I WAS THE HIGHEST BIDDER FOR BOTH! haha it's fine though, the bottom line is I GOT THEM. i decided to do TWC next term. good good. now i only have 37 cents left in my e-account! :(
alright, FOOD (both potluck and catered) was FANTASTIC. the desserts especially, i got to have my donut factory's orange doughnut and the mini cheesecakes! haha we seriously ate to our stomach content la.
following that was the pageant! as you all know, i've been saboed from day 1 of starring and they pulled me to go on stage! how uncivilised, i got my right to refuse and stay put okayyy. so i went up with thomas and of course we have to catwalk and answer all the stupid questions from the stupid em-cees. mine was: describe youself in 3 words and your partner in 3 words. i was like BLANK. thought i got stage fright haha.
went to IS kopitiam for dinner with min wei and try. the rest of the group asked me to go for badminton tgt but peter wanted to meet me so i ended up watching movie with peter and deny! it was JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH and I LOVEEEE IT. i think i just discovered  this part of me that love adventure movies (apart from my comedy!)
ok took lots of pics, can go to my facebook to view. and it's kinda sad reading the final words from my starring friends :|

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY! :)

give me a moment to recall.

alright let's go.

ystd morning, attended the Acc talk, met up with the Scooby Doo ppl again.
refreshements was gooddd. and smu gave us another exquisitely made leather luggage tag, a SMU Accountancy card holder (for our matric card) and a 1GB thumbdrive! (with all the SMU Acc signs all over) that's very RICH and generous of them don't you think! that explains the escalating school fees alright! :|

after the 3 hrs talk, we went for lunch at PS and dingjie joined us from there on. he's so funny cos i was frustrated the night before cos i couldn't access OASIS to view my timetable and he was like go sleep, get rest, tmr then check, don't worry. then he told the rest abt me freaking out that night! :( haha anyway, the whole morning i was the only one who's still clueless abt my timetable. so i decided i can't be left in suspense any longer and asked peter to help me check anddd guess whattt i'm in BLOCK A. almost all my friends are in B! but yichen is in block A too so i was pretty relieved.

after lunch. headed to the ktv around clarke quay (yifang, wallace and xing er joined us here) and it was super FUNNN. we booked 2 rooms so it's like one is solely for ENGLISH and the other for CHINESE songs. anddd tell you whatt, i of course unquestionably belonged to the english! with celestine, john, ian, sheri, and a crasher guy haha. we had so much fun, evidence is on my facebook! :)

around 6plus, deny started bugging me to come for the gathering and i left with john and kevin and met them at the central! made our way to the minds cafe. honestly it wasn't my first time there so i was not that psyched as i'd have been if it was my virgin visit but neverthelessss there i wasss, playing away and enjoying myself thereee. i love the dog&bone ala heart attack! haha :D i can't wait to go there with the Scooby Doo ppl again! (we have the minds cafe vouchers for winning some camp games and we're going to have another outing there good.)

yuli and bf joined us lateee lateee in the evening and we went for dinner at this hottt place (or was it the food we ate?) around. i was supposed to meet my friends again at bukit timah island creamery for dessert but apparently i can't make it in time! so saddd i've to miss it cos we planned for quite some time to use the island creamery vouchers we won during the camp too. but we'll have moreee gatherings to come! to name some, the freshmen bash @ zouk, tri-uni carnival @ sentosa, wallace's 21st, and moreeee. so yeahh i won't miss them just yet :)

today woke up and i actually wanted to sleep in some more but i managed to drag myself up all bcos of the stupid modules-bidding! i was scared that the locker incident repeats itself; where i didn't get to book a LARGE locker due to my lack of speed or rather others' kiasuness. so yeah early in the morning matt called me to ask what modules and how much i'm bidding for and i was like, THAT'S A BIT PERSONAL! later i tell him and he outbids me how haha. i told him nevertheless! (being the nice friend that i am!) so i asked walter for advice and we talked super long cos really very frustrating the whole system. yichen and i were trying very hard to match our schedules and bid for the same class but nopeee, to no avail. not even a single class together! but we both have our MONDAY free! :D

so what did i bid for?
(after the whole morning contemplating!)

STATISTICS under walter's ex prof (he said he's good, i chose to trust him) and TWC under pamela lim! (i realllyyyy hope i get her!! i've been hearing only good things about her from many!) so i bidded quite high for pamela lim haha don't know if i'll regret though! but i desperately want her that i don't mind taking her 8am tues class! crossing my fingers.

i heard from walter that in TWC, we, freshmen, will be in the same class as the year3s! and i'm not exactly thrilled at that thought :|

btw i'm typing this and surfing the net using safari of Mac and MSNing in windows! how cool is that! ADOREEE MY MAC :) (thanksss to yuli who did me such huge favour and went all the way to NUS just to fetch it for me, muchh appreciated help!)

friday:

acc. talk in the morning with scooby doo ppl. 3 looong hrs. after that lunch with scooby doo ppl so had to miss the chartered bus to bring us to starringSMU. travelled to buona vista with xing er and yi chen and washed cars! till 6pm. dinner with 7up ppl at the famous XO holland village foodplace. the day ended after that, i was super tired.

saturday:

met the starring ppl at buona vista at 9am. washed cars again till 4plus pm. the minister and miss spore universe were there. after that left with geri to wheelock apple store to check out the macbook. i end up asking a NUS friend to order for me! cos abit cheaper and got photoshop. after that met geri's male classmates at sakae sushi. around 5plus, geri left and i met timmy as planned and we had dinner and watched movie tgt. i reallyy love talking to him! he treated me that day hahaha so sweet of him! cos apparently he said he asked me out one. and after that he wanted to help me find my formal white shirt around but shops are closing after our movie. so yeah we promised to meet up sometime soon again. at around 11pm, met yuli and bf at city hall. planned to go timbre (very near SMU) but it was full, so we headed to CHIJMES. i promised my asoc camp friends that we're gonna go tgt next time (cos we've nv been there yet its so near SMU) and we chilled to the live music and drank. no more margaritas for me in the future pls.

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

back from ASOC (acc.) camp! 3 days 2 nights. didn't bring my phone with me - a remorsefully baddd decision on my part. slept in SMU accountancy SR (seminar room) with the freezing aircon la. first day was just games around the school. we're actually the blacks (Movies theme) and we did fantastic on the first day! we won like all the biddings for the next day's games. we're supposed to bathe in the gym but the queue was like the length of a 1000 years snake (since the SocSci people are having their camp too) so we decided to go to the sports hall to bathe. and guess what, it's located at the admin building so we have to walk there without any underpass and it was raining. if you wanna know how awful it was, imagine walking around town (the traffic and all) with towels and clothes around your neck! madness really. and we ended up bathing in the male toilets cos their queue was shorter as they bathed faster. haha lucky our group guys helped us monitor! around 11/12 plus we went for supper to the famous tau-hwe stall near school and went to sleep only at about 2 am. we woke up the next day at 7 plus cos we have to be ready to leave for sentosa at 9 am. SMU booked the whole palawan beach for us to play all the disgustingly creative and fun games! but violent laaaa. i got scratched, pushed, hit, blueblack everywhere, aching everywhere and what's worse, SUNBURNT. at night we had stage games and less active competitions. and guess what, my facis for this camp also saboed me they submitted my name as The Hottest Freshie cos apparently each group has their hottest guy and girl. and the crazy wallace was my partner in patheticness. we had to catwalk and strut down the palawan beach and do all the retarded poses! embarassing pls! i think i'm super suay. on another note, the dean of acc. is a really pleasant woman i love her. so we bathed in sentosa and it was like an eye-opening experience for me. after that, the facis performed a really nice show for us. they dressed up according to their group names and danced around! my fave was SHREK, he really painted himself green and wore the McDonald shrek's ears and wore DIAPERS, and sucked a pacifier! and the others were like veryyy alike too, the power rangers, powerpuff girls, sailormoon and 20 more characters i think! hahahhaha i was laughing my ass off the whole night. it was really memorable :) at night, the chartered bus brought us back to SMU and we played cards the whole night. other groups like all got drunk together until passed out that kind and oh yeah a group lost a shoe bag filled of the whole team's valuables!!! i was like, goodness. oh yeah, i loveeee to play the murderers with my group! i especially like being the detective! and John the Healer, always heals me whenever i'm the murderer hahaha. thanks to him man. i really learnt aloooooooooooooootttttttttt of new games during this camp! and i learnt alot of gossip abt the seniors too haha. at around 4plus am we walked out to a food place nearby for supper. and we all went to sleep (though it was decided that we're gonna go without sleep that night) at 6am. we woke up at 8am and rushed down for breakfast and the announcements of winner! the Hellboy won the station games :| the last two must clean toilets. but fraction-wise, we won some vouchers (which we're gonna spend soon together as a group) at minds cafe and island cannery if i'm not wrong. after that was the presentation, photo-taking, writing testimonials for each other and so on. we left SMU for lunch and i was the one who decided and brought them to Astons @ Grand Cathay (nearest to the SocSci building) and they loveeeed it. they loved how disproportional the amount of food to the price in the best way. hahaha and we were already planning for our next outing which is supposedly on the 5th aug after some acc. talk. and we're gonna go for the inter-uni beach carnival IBIZA in the middle of aug together! stupid matthew asked me to go club tonight, i asked him to ask the whole group but ppl very tired so i told him next time and he must drive his car so that we dont have to worry about late night transport (cos he just passed his driving test today!) haha. and oh yeah celest and i made a pact to join the sub-comm for ASOC Day together (which is basically a themed party for acc. ppl). i think thats abt it. the camp seems to pass very fast! i'll miss the Scooby Doo people really. but i will meet them again of course haha. and oh yeahhhhh I LOST MY VOICE for all the crazy cheering! (Scooby Doo people should thank me!) :(((

Sunday, July 20, 2008

4plus pm left for town to collect my altered formal skirt. then did alot of shopping, le coq sport shoes, a pretty dress, and a BAG! (so uncalled for.) i feel really bad for spending so much. i still need to find my white long sleeve shirt for convo and i hope i can wear yuli's black americaya pumps! don asked me how was my dinner cos he just went for his. i told him my view and he's like saying i'm lucky still have yi chen and xing er with me. and he loves his group btw. of course la, cannot compare SS and Acc. people man! they are like the coolest and nerdiest respectively! anyway then later on at night he asked to play pool together tmr but i'm like, i can't play pool and he went, i'll teach you don't worry and i continued, but i need to do my packing tmr, and so do you! and he replied me, we ex-army guys pack very fast! then i asked him to ask huijuan too, which happened to be online and he's like you ask la but eventually huijuan and i decided to turn him down! hahahaha so funny pleaseee, we girl power bullied him and he's so poor thing! but really what if tmr i'm going out, it should be with my sis, she asked me to go for K-Box/ dinner tmr. but my earlier plan is to spend some quality time at home packing! cos i really haven't started at all! ok, i must make a mental note not to spend too much from now onwards cos i wanna buy my MacBook :)

Saturday, July 19, 2008

ystd work whole day, CAN'T STAND IT.

today started off with me going to SA to collect SGC. today's supposedly the last day. then went to alter my formal black skirt at town. at 6.30 pm rushed to city hall to attend the ASOC pre-camp dinner. so me and yi chen made a pact to meet up, then suddenly xing er (who's this nicee girl from my starringSMU group) msged me last night asking to go tgt! i'm like soooo happy and relieved that even in ASOC camp, i have my friends with me! hahaha :D
we went to marina square billy bombers for dinner. 7 of the 12 people (excluding the 2 facis) turned up. they are like so smart people and the feeling is just different from starringSMU la. I LOVE 7-UP! I LOVE STARRINGSMU! these ASOC ppl like so serious and tense that i'm the one who talked all the time! until the facis disturb me :( and they make me in charge of our group's cheers! btw our group's name will be SCOOBY-DOO. there was a lot of awkward silences in between and i felt it's less fun than starringSMU i don't know why. firstly, the facis! i don't really like these facis (except bernard). arrggghh even xing er thinks so! she and i agree that our starringSMU group is more fun! i'm just glad that i have yi chen and xing er with me throughout the camp! after dinner, we proceeded to esplanade to gather and play simple games. to me, it was abit dry and lame. but yeah, i'm trying very hard not to compare it to starringSMU!

timmy msged me, demanding for our meet-up. he suggested tmr but i think tmr i wanna spend time with my siblings instead before i leave for camps. so i told him next week sat after my starringSMU. actually i'll be free one of the weekdays but he's army boy whatt he's only available on weekends. so yup marking the date on my calendar. and i'm like distracted all the time during the game to reply timmy i almost lost! hahaha.

hmmmm tired.

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

today we're doing the Pledges for the Nation and we were assigned to go to Republic Poly or Singapore Poly or Harborfrount but we decided to go for brunch at Subway PS and started at the PS Atrium. we managed to get quite a few (around 40plus) pictures of strangers. i conclude that younger people (students/teenagers) and ang mohs are much more approachable than the rest of the categories! seriously. me, geri and huijuan are in one group, i did the phototaking (using my camera of course) and the talking, geri did the particulars forms and huijuan just hold the poster. after that, we headed to toa payoh but business was damn bad there, seeing that the people there are mostly elderlies and the chinese-spoken. but at the end of it all, each group got about 80 plus pictures and it all totaled up to about 300 pics. we're supposed to get 500! but we decided we deserve a nice break, so we all went to MINDS Cafe @ Paradise! hahaha that was cool. we ate there and our facis helped us pay for the food! :D so we played the miners/saboteurs and i was apparently a veryyy gullible and blur saboteur that don they all knew i was a saboteur so early in the game! and we played taboo too, but i wasn't bad and wasn't the loser haha (luckily!). the losers have to forfeit and were given the chance to choose one of the forfeits displayed on the board there (recommended forfeits by MINDS Cafe) it was really fun and before we know, it's 5 pm plus and we have to head back to the school. after that we did FLASH MOB where SMU people will chase after a random people or carry the person! sooo interesting but dangerous! you can search in youtube if you want to have an idea of what it is. so my UniY facis called today (2 facis! isn't 1 enough!) to confirm my coming for the camp. at the end of it all, we're each given 2 tickets to sell away for our car foam party on the 25/26 july at holland village and i have no idea how i'm gonna sell it! so if you own a car, and your car is dirty, pls buy the tickets from me! all pics of starringSMU events coming up when 7-UP ppl sent everything to me alright. i'm really very tired but i have to work tmr! siannnnnnnnnnnnnnn :|

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

i was supposed to wake up at 6.45 am but i don't know what happened, i woke up an hour later! i think i hit the snooze button and happily went back to la la land :( rushed rushed rushed, took cab with yuli who tompang to raffles city and it was a whopping $28! omg i really i cannot afford to be late when school starts! met the girls at the admin building, submitted the indemnity form and then rushed to Li Ka Shing Library the T junction. ok, so i was right, we stayed in SMU for dance and drum; very samba and salsa and all latin! and we hit the pale drum until my hands became all red and sore! the dancing was definitely more enjoyable than the drumming. so we learn all these for our 1.6km actual Samba Walk around s'pore later on. we went to the IS kopitiam for lunch and at the same time got our kopitiam card done. yay, we're entitled to 20% that's awesome! so today one of my facis told me that she has submitted my name and donovan's name for the whatever starringSMU. i was like stunt, i really didn't think she's that heartless but see, all facis are like this! i was that insistent also when i was an OGL back in JC! and they're trying to sabo me during the dance too! in fact all the time! i'm so pitiful huh :| and they're still trying to psycho me not to get the MacBook! i really donno why la. it's nice right. i saw one of the female facis use and i thought it was really pretty. ok i hope tmr i'm not late!
sunday saw me fulfilling my promise to peter: to bring him shopping for formal wear. and he managed to get all he wanted (with my tremendous help of course!) and i bought a black skirt for Convocation too! all from G2000. then researched abt apple MacBook, the guy was such a flirt (guys nowadays!) but he helped alooot really. after that pete nagged me to accompany him watch HANCOCK and being the nice sis i am, i gave in and we caught the 9pm show despite his school and my work tmr. CLAPS.

timmy talked to me ystd after so long. he knew everything abt me now, i'm in SMU and i just attended the CIP programme (starringSMU) that's pretty spooky haha. he's accepted into aerospace eng @ NTU (i told you, pilot wannabe) but i can tell he reallyyy wanna come SMU! he said if he change his mind within this 1 and 1/2 yrs, i'll prob meet him again in SMU. he's scared NTU is too cheena la. and we're supposed to meet up one of these weekends too! (which i don't know which, considering my hectic calendar!)

i received more and more smses/calls from the facis of my various camps reminding this and that! after work, i just come home to check for all the to-brings, esp for tmr's starringSMU! we'll be the half that stays in SMU for drum&dance! that's cool but i'm not bringing anything man. oh yeaaa and when i signed in MSN today, i was bombarded with like close to 10 adds from 7-UP people! hahaha. and donovan talked to me, reminding me of what to bring tmr, so thoughtful of him.

ok tmr, 8.30 am @ city hall to meet the girls again. but this time, we're gonna go to the admin building first to submit the indem form for UniY. and i wanna wear what i want tmr! :)

Sunday, July 13, 2008

after much thought, and the info i got today about the configuration of outside laptops from my facis, i decided to buy a MACBOOK! i'm gonna get the lightest and most compact one and send for configuration soon :)

Saturday, July 12, 2008

i have so many things to say that i feel tired even before i type anything.
starringSMU teambonding rocks! i had so muchhh fun today :D
so i wasn't late, i reached just nice to meet the girls at city hall.
we all wore not-so-nice attire and i actually prepared some bandage just in case.
so we registered and were assigned to be in team 7 (which was 10 initially)
our group is awesome, the relax people who are very calm and collected but get things done.
our facis are impressive as well i have to say; they really take care of us!
they actually share alot with us.
some of the things i caught today are that UniY camp is gonna be much much better than starringSMU (which i already thought fun!), for FTB, run 4 is supposedly the BEST run of all, according to last year! huahahaha we're so lucky then that all the camps are gonna be the fun ones!
so we were given a brief tour of smu. the gym rocks i tell you! comparable to the california fitness i'm not kidding! and all the underpass connecting one school to another, all the food places, free clinics, banks, photocopy centres and moreee hidden places! i really thought it doesn't feel like a school at all la!
after that was ice breakers. we played the name games where we have to put an adjective infront of our names starting with the same letter, and guess what! they all kept calling my name (mini mega)! especially the kingkong ken la! hahaha. everybody kept bullying him as well cos very easy to remember! as our names are called too often, the facis even have to ask us to step aside so that the rest whose name hasn't been called gets to play! haha. the other ice breaker was the scissors paper stone ala shrek. i actually managed to humiliate myself again and the facis kept laughing at me! :|
ok soon came lunch time. our facis brought us to the lesser known food place near school and i thought the food was not bad!
the next event was AMAZING RACE@FORT CANNING PARK. which is just opposite SMU. the whole thing was really enjoyable, it was simple games but surprisingly not boring at all. but i do get some serious tanning and dirt at the end of it all!
there was this one station where we have to dance retarded moves to a song and the only song which happened to be in the handphone was BLEEDING LOVE. i was like laughing the whole time laaa omg omg super freaking hilarious! i tell you i will never look at the song the same way anymore! it's really one of those UNFORGETTABLE memories.
so during the 'broken telephone' game my facis suddenly came up to me and asked me must come for the last day finale. they are submitting my name to be the MISS starringSMU! crazy ah! i told them hundred reasons why i refuse but they're very stubborn la being facis :( i'm not planning to humiliate myself and i'll just not show up on that day according to the plan then! haha.
so we ended at around 7pm (punctual!) and my body's worn out! after the twister, walking up stairs and entangling myself from the human chain!
we're planning a 7-UP (oh yeah, our group name btw) group dinner on the 25th, so the facis are like nagging us must go on that day.
ok i really love my school :D
JOINED starringSMU!
the person called me again today when i was at work and i ended up dragging geri and huijuan to go too!
and this thing starts tmr!
the TEAMBONDING.
and i heard her say we're gonna go to fort canning but the assembly is still at SOB.
so we like have 2 CSP programmes to join!
but for starringSMU most probably we'll go for 5 out of 8 events, cos we already have UniY (which we paid for!) and our CIP hours exceeds 80 hrs alr!
and guess what, it sucks that we have to wear sporty attire and shoes!
at first geri was complaining to me that we have to wear track shoes but then i told her that the email said 'covered' shoes for safety reasons, meaning we still can wear our fave PUMPS or FLATS!
she thought so too initially.

but no, that's just our wishful thinking!
as we read on, i feel it's best not to play around with their dresscode otherwise we'll be the clowns tmr!
i told her i'm gonna wear my converse as i refuse to wear hideous track shoes.
geri was like I DON'T HAVE mega!
she thought she'd look nerdy.

well i think so haha :D
huijuan, too, complained abt how ugly we'll look cos we made a pact to wear saint shirts together tmr (we don't own any baggy clothes other than school shirts)
she was asking if i'm gonna wear from home or change in sch and i told her wearing from home cos scared no time to change.
goshhh.
and of course, the reporting time has to be 9 am!
A.M. people!
this just signifies the first time after so long that i have to wake up real early again!
i think i'm gonna end up cabbing if i don't wanna be late to meet the girls @ city hall, 8.45 am tmr.
what's worse.
i think we're gonna be divided into groups tmr.
and that means we'll be separated :(
that ain't good, no.
ok i'm gonna go pack up my stuff and remove my nail polish, bye!

Thursday, July 10, 2008

for real, i feel like ignoring people and stop being socially nice altogether. (i wish i could!)

let's see.

angelyn asked me to join arts camp with her. and sign up for the same run for FTB (luckily she also decided on Run 4!) but there's no way in hell i'm cut out for an arts camp. or the extreme camp which my friends have been nagging me to join! ( i can neither cycle, nor rollerblade, nor dive people!)

charis msged me complaining that she'll be alone cos she signed up for Run 2 of FTB. i have to comfort her though i don't really know how i mean you can't change the dates once you signed up.

the starringSMU people called me up after receiving no response from me regarding their email. i already told them i'm actually interested but my friends want me to join the UniY camp (which, according to joyce, the 'coolest' CIP camp !) i thought that was a bad move cos then they know i actually wanted to join, then they become more persistent in asking me to join :|

my sec sch chairman asked me for an outing! oh gosh, i barely have time for myself, but i promise will let him know if i'm free so have to keep my promise.

my boss still wants me to work till my school opens then maybe she lets me go. she asked me when my school starts. humph.

OKAY.

i got my sleeping bag and it's not that ex la, unlike what my friends told me. (unreliable people! haha.)

so next week will officially be my last week working before my first camp starts!

all these camps, seriously, i have a bad feeling about my chance of survival. if you knew me, you'd understand. i mean you'd understand if you know how unhealthy my obsession is with hygiene!

on another note, santono was telling me that he ended up in SIM and asked me what CCA i'm joining. i told him most probably golf, then i asked him to join at SIM so that we could one day play together. he told me SIM doesn't offer golf as a CCA and feeling bad, i told him we could play when we're old and retired! haha :D btw i was surprised when he said the freshmen orientation of SIM is not for everybody due to the limited vacancy! wth, that's so ridiculuos don't you think.

and people, i'm typing this wearing my new specs :)
i don't wanna get the FUJITSU notebook/tablet from SMU; it's visually unappealing and everyone will be carrying the same thing! i saw a male senior using a MACbook so maybe i'll ask around and find out if SMU system accepts MAC cos i'd rather (90%) get my own MAC without any promotion.

shopping list (need-to-get stuff):
FTB: sleeping bag, trackpants, more FBTs i think!
Convocation: white long sleeves shirt, skirt, black formal shoes

7 july

MATRICULATION part 1. a bit late, reached SMU SoA an hour later than the actual 2 pm. too many stations, too long queue, too crowded, seniors too noisy (you have to stop and entertain each one of them when they approach you otherwise you'll be deemed stuck-up and i managed to be nice and did just that), the senior girls asked where i got my top from, the guys are such flirts (imagine bumping into the same person at every station spooky!), more saints-turn-smu acc. being unveiled. after the looong decision-making, i ended up signing up for 3 camps (i have to turn down tonnes of the aggressive persuasion from the seniors to sign up for those i'm not interested in; like extreme camp!) the three being: Absolut'U Accountancy Camp, Freshmen Teambuilding Camp (we signed up for run 4 which is the last run) and UniY Camp (to clear 3/4 of our compulsory 80-hrs community service!) and notice it's really CAMPS. meaning, staying overnight in school (or wherever) for at least 3 nights! for each camp! omg omg omg. i've never in my life attend so many camps before, i'm like rushing to buy a sleeping bag! and when i told peter, he was like, yeah what SMU people have nothing to do what that's why have so many camps. errr.. i think he wants to die. camps are ex, $30 each, except the FTB. i actually wanna join starringSMU camp whereby the CIP hours are being clocked in while we dance and learn samba, wash cars and break s'pore records. sounds fun right! peer pressure made me choose UniY but oh well it's not bad etiher. signed up for visa /debit card too cos of the millions privileges. oh yeahhh got my student card and it's horrendous; i look unprepared and quite weird but ok la, not complaining maybe i'll paste a nicer photosticker over it some time. but the card itself is cool cos i can now access all the facilities in SMU! later that day i wanna sign up for the mandatory library workshop but it was fully booked, i couldn't even get the last 5 pm slot. went shopping with my friends after that (only afew stops from orchard!) and when i was going home, met yingneng cos he's taking 518 too! he looked so diff and seemed more well-behaved than ever. and after our chat, i actually found out that he aspires to be a chef! haha but he's rich so yeah no problem one. my shoulders and feet HURT like hell cos of the matriculation bag filled with heavy brochures/documents and the walking around 12 stations to be matriculated. and i'm not even close to being done!

8 july

MATRICULATION part 2. meeting friends at 11 am. basically i went down just to go for the library thing. some of the seniors actually remember me and they were like, you better sign up for my event cos i remember your name and face already! you cannot run away from me! haha. the library usage is too complicated la, i caught no ball. ok we walked to raffles city for lunch and we met timmy's friends at the same restaurant :) i was glad when everything is taken care of; it was close to 6 pm by then. we went to town and i tried looking for a sleeping bag but can't really find and i ended up at my saloon getting my hair cut! hahahaha it turned out very well :D shopped for a bit and then back east. the specs girl called, my specs is ready for collection. i'm so gladdd i bought just in time for the camps cos apparently we're discouraged from wearing contacts. i gtg sort out my papers and mark out dates on my organiser, so later!

yuli's hair is prettyyy! the sis got her hair extended; it looks pretty natural on her so yeah i'd say it was a good move. a lot of people easily pass off as some barbie-doll-wannabes but she definitely is not one; she pulls off the look decently! SURPRISINGLY :) (no pun intended)

while she got her hair done, i decided to walk around bugis and i chanced upon this place which sells insanely gorgeous accessories and the best part is, it's affordable! so guess what, i ended up asking yuli to follow me back to bugis after fecthing her to help me decide which to buy! despite the unwilling attempt to control my spending, i finished off with 2 fabulous bracelets and a long necklace! greatness.

headed back to CS for dinner with yuli's bf and friend. so i don't know how it happened, but i suddenly found myself trying on the nice specs i spotted the last time, getting excited, checking my eyesight, and paying for it in, let's say, less than 30 mins! bravo, no? haha it was terribly impulsive and yuli played quite a role the whole time if you know what i mean.

ok, MATRICULATION tmr. charis msged me to confirm for tmr, we're gonna go for library training tgt too. i hope yuli's nets workkks. (pls!) and they're gonna do phototaking (which translates into my student card for 4 LONG years) so i must at least look decent shoulder upwards. otherwise it will haunt me in the future yup.

oh yeahhh yuli and me thought we saw mas slamat today! there was this relatively short, dishevelled unkempt looking man with a little limping on the legs being escorted by a mrt officer! instead of freaking out, we're actually gushing about how cool it would be to be the ones who witness the arrest of the wanted man! claps to us :)

one word. MUST-WATCH.

i'm gonna organise more outings with the indos :)

thursday saw me heading to SMU (i was pleasantly surprised by how near my school is to city hall mrt, raffless city and yuli's office!) to sit for QET. with geri, huijuan and aline. met shijie and friend and we were in the same seminar room. ok so the test is not THAT scary, but that's not to say that it's chicken feet either. the ambience was intense though, i have to agree, with all the elevated and numbered seats. i was more confident of the essay section; essay has always been my niche. no, let me rephrase that, the essay section is not easy but it was certainly doable. it was something like AQ we learnt in JC and this exact familiriaty absolutely helps alot. the text editting was, on the other hand, as tricky as asking someone who is drunk to walk in a straight line. i mean, to me the sentences from the super dryyy passage seem perfectly sensible and lingually correct so i ended up with quite a number of NE (No Error) as answers. great. i'm crossing my fingers (till twisted) that i don't screw this one up! i hope my essay (which inevitably exceeds 500 words) helps cover for whatever mistakes and marks lost from the test editting section!

right after, geri, huijuan and me made our ways to the grand cathay to catch a movie. so it was decided as 21, a quite cool movie about these mathematically intelligent MIT students who use their brains to gamble in the casinos in vegas. the three of us was too dumb for the show la, we didn't quite get how they really calculated the cards and everything. but it was nice to watch yes. a little shopping and snacking here and there :D

bought a new ezlink card cos my bus pass expired. i was glad to find out it costs me a mere $15 and not $50, until i was given the only design available: it was a picture of chinatown. so prettyyy uh-huh.

i chanced upon a nice pair of specs today! :)

weekly routine with yuli: eat-out and shoppp! such excellent routine; i love.
make-ups and accessories for yuli and one top each for us :|
it's sooo pleasant - did i mention I LOVE IT?

moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee pls.

last sunday
morning: collected medical report and i'm all well and alright, no lung problems, nor HIV, nor abnormalities and am FIT FOR SMU PLACEMENT. 'nuff said.
noon (more or less): went to raffles city first to stamford house to settle yuli's additional work programme! then we had lunch at the chi-chi SHOKUDO again, it was gooodddd. bought a pair of cuteee maryjanes ($40plus again!), my pencil case and a file i've been looking for at this amazing shop in RC. and yuli did some serious damage to her wallet as well.
night: IKEA! where i spent another $300 plusplus for a really long, in terms of breadth and width, table and an extremely comfortable swivel chair (many thanks to yuli! argghh if only i didn't sit on it, i wouldn't have known how comfy it was) and bought peter a desk too. and we decided to get the delivery and assembly service! and what's worse, i felt disturbingly baddd to the point of remorse for spending that much i don't know why. i spent wayyy more at the PC show and i didn't even feel it. NVM.

today
WORK FULL, RC. fullstop

attended the 2-hrs talk on the major. wow, i definitely sensed the difference in the things that are to be learnt here. everything isn't such clear-cut anymore, as in like up to jc level, i've gotten used to the 'subjects' type learning. when we're doing maths, then it's all about numbers and equations and calculators, when it's physics then it's stricly pain-in-the-ass formulaes and there's no interlink and minimal intersection of the things you learn. anddd, here's the catch.. YOU HAVE NEITHER SLIGHTEST IDEA NOR CONCERN OF WHY AND WHAT FOR YOU'RE LEARNING IT AT ALL. and to speak heart-to-heart, i have no problem with the system. i just care to make sure i score well for each tests and ace those exams. but today, it hit me that there's no such thing as learning just for the sake of getting As anymore. all the things i've previously learnt from maths (mainly), econs, physics are all jumbled up and interrelated to one another to make up a major. and in the unfortunate event that i decided to take up this major, i would have to deal with more terrifying formulaes, stock market, shares, debts and whatever else that is equally frightening! but apparently the DBS manager who came to share his view encouraged us to take as it's useful. APPARENTLY. but i got a feeling i'd flunk leee if i take! :(

after the talk (which felt forever) and some top-notch refreshments, we (SA ppl) had some major retail theraphy. i (surprise!) spent unnecesarily again. the stuff i bought are great finds though! :D

ok, planned to go for matriculation on the 8th of july with SA ppl but theirs is the first half (A-L) and mine (M) is unfortunately the second half at 2 pm. but geri was suggesting that i come earlier to have the library training with them then go with charis (the new girl from nyjc i know today) for matriculation. so i'd do that then.

note to self: COLLECT MEDICAL REPORT tmr.

ystd:
brought comp for re-formatting to SLS (got charged $50 argghh)
watched GET SMART.
omfg this movie encapsulates everything a GREAT comedy show should be!
agent 86 is retarded with a capital R and is wayyy too self-absorbed. agent 99 is hot but too sobersided and agent 23 can't be an antagonist for nuts but he's got a great bod no doubts.
like seriously, go catch this one. immediate.
even if you've never been a die-hard fan of comedies, i still think you'll pretty much enjoy giggling away watching it.
afterwards, i actually wanna shop around but then NO CHANCE.
:|

today:
WORK. check. FULL HOURS. check.
NO LIFE TODAY. double check!
my boss was notably sunshiny today, she came to the shop just to welcome me back and supposedly 'catch up' with me! i could feel she was particularly nice today.
the sign in search of a new girl has been put up in my shop already.
PAYDAY. my pay seems to escalate each time i received. but then again, it's a good thing. so i'm totally not complaining here :)

tmr:
SMU quantitative finance major talk.
what in the world is that!!
exactly.
that's why i need to go!

yesterday:
medical check-up!
peter bailed on me :( left with no choice, alone off i went to raffles medical changi airport T3 early in the morning! i had my blood, urine and X-ray samples taken (and yeahhhh it involved INJECTION). there's this one young male indo doctor who took my blood pressure and he was really friendly asking me stuff like where did i come from and what am i studying in SMU (in indo language). i find his mannerism very pleasant i'm not sure why. it's not all sunshiny though, i encountered a serious problem regarding the extraction of urine sample, i spent close to half an hour in the toilet stressing! (i even called yuli cos too frustrated and following her advice, i gulped down my whole water bottle!) and when the receptionist called to check on my wherebeing, i was like "i'm sorry but i have problems producing half a bottle of urine" !! goodness how humiliating. but in the end she told me it's alright they don't really need that much. tell me earlier laaa! :| i ended up submitting merely a quarter of the bottle.

today:
meet-up with the lovelyyy geri! didn't really plan but we caught The Incredible Hulk movie. not too bad i must say. then we shopped around (she bought 3 tops at one go and i bought a cute scarf!) and we even went to try
on suits and office skirts ( ohh i love the suitsss, we looked good in them!) we'll need to own formal wear sometime soon. so geri was saying since it's still GSS, it's worth considering buying now. afterwards she treated me to some chippys and we sat down at PS to have a long chat before heading to borders (OUR fave place!) to browse some books. such perfect date! :D so it's like she'll be enrolling in SMU bussiness and i'll be in SMU accountancy. i knew some more people who're going to be in my faculty too! and surprisingly, they are the smart and mostly playful girls who are far from nerdy! :) and geri told me that SMU is very competitive as in everyone fights for their As. and of course the infamous rumour that SMU undergrads are super vocal! so it's like talk talk talk all the time. rubbish also just talk. that's what the professor said haha. after hanging out with geri today, i find myself feeling fortunate to be accepted and am actually looking forward to it ( i don't necessarily have the same sentiment before).
home at 11 pm. the thought of selling away my PC crossed my mind when i remembered geri mentioned that we should buy the notebooks offered by SMU cos all the necessary programmes would be provided completely and we'll need it for the endless projects. i used to think i don't really need nor wish for a new lappy but then on second thought, it's more practical and reasonable for me to own a laptop instead of a PC for the sole reason that i no longer need it to play games (the sims). so maybe i will end up ordering from SMU afterall. then got some drama about unknown spills on the floor near the broom at home. peter and me came up with so many potential hypotheses and possible scenarios (which, of course, do not make the slightest sense) of how the spills came about. annoyingly, we are still clueless as to what's it actually! i hate. so gross please.

first and foremost let me just get it out of the way,
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
to my dad and the rest of the fathers/fathers-to-be out in the world.
it's funny how the society tends to be less festive when it comes to father's day;
or should i say how mother's day is wayy more exaggerated from time immemorial.
don't you think.
i will very conveniently assume here it's all about girl power! :)

today saw me parting ways with my $$ again, this time for the exchange of a black GUESS wallet and an eccentric pencil/makeup case. i'm just glad i controlled myself well enough not to end up with another GUESS handbag! all the SALE SALE SALE makes everything superficially cheap and guess what, you spending more than you planned to.
let's all blame the GSS!

despite all, exceptionally pleasant outing/shopping trip with my sis!
:D

I DREAD TOMORROW'S CHECK-UP.

Saturday, June 14, 2008

i've been sending out emails to various homes and foundations to register myself as a volunteer but how come none of them get back to me yet?? :| frustrated cos my holiday is coming to an end soon!
REPLY TO ME PLEASE PEOPLE.

and on a random note,
i miss hanging out with my sis :(
i demand our girly outing soon!

SONGS ON MY PLAYLIST THIS WEEK
(IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE) :

1) TAKE A BOW - RIHANNA
2)BYE BYE - MARIAH CAREY
3) BETTER IN TIME - LEONA LEWIS
4) LOVE SONG - SARA BAREILLES
5) CAN'T SPEAK FRENCH - GIRLS ALOUD

DO GIVE THEM A LISTEN :)

@ Bras Basah Complex: sold away tonnes of my JC textbooks, tys and exam papers for the super minimal $22! (can it get any lower than this! and i actually BARGAINED with an indian man today! oh my.)

@ Capitol Building: visited yuli's workplace, met her bosses. quite an eye-opening.

@ PC show, Suntec: got a canon printer and the adored cybershot T300 camera!! woohoo.
i'm almost a-thousand-dollars poorer haha
super duper duper duper crowded! but the best thing about PC/IT shows is the free gifts they give away with every purchase (they're pretty generous, really)
like how i got logitech speakers, wireless mouse and some plastic photo gloss when i bought my printer.
and for my camera, i got like screen protector, leather casing, tripod, another memory card, another battery, lens cleaner liquid, and lots of other things which i have not figured out - all are complimentary!
:D

back @ home: bombarded with emails from SMU again. QET registration opens. now that i found out it's only a 2-hrs paper of text-editing and essay, i feel hugely relieved and am actually looking forward to it! hahaha. another thing done: Form 16 is settled! :)
passed my camera on to my lil' brother, he's damn gay (the 'happy' gay i mean) and took like ten pictures of me throughout the night (and the worst part, he kept asking me to smile) :|

i'm staring at my organiser and i'm like. i can't believe there's something written on every date!

FRESHMEN!

DON'T YOU JUST FIND IT ANNOYING!
COS I DO!

stop referring to us as freshies! :(

got my little red organiser book for '08/'09 from paperchase!
impulsive purchases of c&k gladiator sandals, undies, july CLEO and MAC lipstick for yuli.
such a nice shade of nude pink i chose.
and an enormous thank you to my sis for the lovely anklet!
love it love it love it :)

got a call from SMU regarding my SP application,
turned out NTU is also helping me apply for SP and thus SMU can't proceed.
and i have to actually send an email to NTU to ask them to withdraw my SP application and let SMU settle!
abit k*ypo huh, i mean i didn't even accept the school.
transferred in all the dates onto my organiser and i realised there are million things going on even before the school officially opens (18aug)! :(
and i hate the QET!
can i don't take? :|

ohhh boy.
just checked SMU website after some time.
i was totally bombarded with information!
cos the Matriculation 2008 info has been published and seriously, i got severe migrain just keeping up with all the dates and programmes and website links and things to print!
i tried storing everything (all the dates and places and what-to-brings) into my phone but i have a feeling that it's not gonna work out too beautifully.
so top on my to-do list: get an organiser. FAST.
with so many things to settle, now i really doubt i'll have the time to work on july.
and yeahh great, screw the medical check-up :|

caught this movie today:

freaking hilarious. dubbed by well-known stars but seriously, jack black suits the uber adorable panda character to the T. i mean i can't think of anyone else who's better suited to dub Po's voice than him. and yeahh i just fall head over heels in love with the oriental atmosphere of the movie! the idea of featuring great wall of china, scroll of letter chinese-style, dumplings, noodles, chopsticks, peach trees, rooms with paper walls ala japanese, and even the naming of characters (the old turtle: u-gui, and the rat master: shi-fu) are absolutely genius! definitely worth my 6 bucks :D

Sunday, June 8, 2008

the formidable trip to JB again today; the second in-and-out to be precise. with the super-impulsive yuli. to tell you the truth, she's actually the only pillar of strength that prompts me to go through all the menacing travelling/squeezing/shoving amongst the sardine of rather kiasu travellers! gawddd, it took lots of my closing-one-eye and definitely a moutain of forbearance to make it through the day at first but with the much needed positive attitude from my sis throughout, i actually managed a triumph! (i never knew i could last the day!)

so paid a visit to the city square shops again. lunch @ kenny roger's; thumbs-up from me. didn't actually plan to shop but guess whattt. we bought numerous stuff to the point of excess! unnecessary little things like super cute water bottles, hairclip, CLOTHES (i got this cute skirt), snacks, SHOES (the shoes there are insanely gorgeous!), and some other redundant things which we bought based primarily on the one big factor: CHEAPNESS. hahahaha :D

i'm kinda facing a problem regarding the whole visit pass thing. i might not be able to carry on with this trick anymore and that means i have to travel someplace else. i was thinking of batam but still having mixed feelings about it. i'd worry when it's time. on the same down note, my resignation wasn't that successful either. after mustering all the courage giving my boss notice, she was seemingly trying to retain me :| howww?? (anybody who intends to work full-time sales, pleaseee declare yourself to me!)

alright i'm really really bushed! later.

Thursday, June 5, 2008

1) when am i quitting my job, somebody tell me pls. or better yet, help me tell my boss! cos i'm too chicken-hearted to give her the notice :| not nice to her laa if you know what i mean.

2) till this second, i still encounter problems finding the right shoes. bless me!

3) i'm all green-eyed of people with career! especially when i'm like working at RC and witness all these executives/bussinesspersons stroll around with all the pride and air of confidence about them.

4) family time. family time. family time. 'NUFF SAID!

5) why, all of a sudden, are all my drama series discontinuing?? i find myself coming home to rewatch gilmore girls for like the umpteenth time! and it doesn't help that yuli teases me for that! (private jokes)

6) Accessorize is a, for the lack of a general word to describe all its positive qualities, fabulous shop! a little pricey though. seriously if you have never seen/heard of it, double shame on you! no, make it triple shame!

7) heavenly lunch treat by yuli today at SHOKUDO the japanese food bazaar!
(my recent discovery!) ALL THE GOODNESS OF JAPANESE FOOD UNDER ONE ROOF AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE! (quoted from a mag) it's like the japanese-version of marche and i can assure you if you're gonna do japanese then this is the ultimate place.

8) unfulfilled needs WANTS: a wallet, a desk, a camera, heels, a laser printer, a pair of specs, an array of make-ups, REMEMBER ME? book by sophie kinsella. anybody feeling generous, thank you in advance kay :)

so long people! ( like how DT does it)

but you know what?

i'm gonna prove you wrong.

emotional stuff.

i just happened to watch the charity show dedicated to helping the victims in china (the horrendous Sichuan earthquake!) on ch8 after dinner with the siblings. and it was extremely emotional i tell you. even the hosts and local celebs wept in tears and everything. i'm really not much of a oh-so-saddd, i'm-tearing-now kind of person, so when i state to you that it's emotive and heart-wrenching, you better believe me. let's all donate and lend a hand people!

on a different note, yuli starts work tmr. she's not at all thrilled at the thought (knowing her you'd understand haha)

i just want you around long enough to see us grow. as a family.
is it too much to ask?

Saturday, May 24, 2008

alright, i haven't been updating again i know; seeing that i'm having probably the longest holiday in my entire post-infant life, you'd argue that i should have more material to blog about, but trust me, it takes such considerable amount of time, dilligence and maybe narcissism to be able to do so. i really do admire some disciplined bloggers out there who splash their life out in details to the virtual world on a daily basis (do they like have 48 hrs a day or maybe computer with them 24/7?!) how in the world they do that someone pls fill me in. nevertheless! that's not to say this blog is dead though! i shall make an online promise to whatever is left of the people who actually read this, that i will post an article after every major event happening to revitalise this blog and keep it alive!

today saw me attending my one and only sis' grad ceremony. i have to say that it's kind of inspired me and i do wanna be like them in the sense of having my own graduation celebrated on stage like that. well, of course i've had my fair share of school-farewells seeing that i had gone through two national exams and am an alumnus of two or more schools so far. but what would really leave me gratified is the chance to actually put on that distinguished graduation robe/gown and sashay down the stage as i received my certs handed honourably by some VIPs. thouggghhhhhh... of course the one thing that they have not and i find missing is the part where i get to show off my own cap and throw mine up in the air as the famous graduation statement. and yeah, i could have that. i would have that. i believe i would. just in... 3/4 years time. thank you! :|

that being said, CONGRATULATIONS, BIG SISTER! you did it! and we are terribly proud of you. (i'd have let out earsplitting claps and embarassing screams/shout-outs to put across my pride and support effectively if it weren't for peter's lack of photography skill; i got distracted damn it.) worry not, we think you're awesome all the same :)

MOTHER'S DAY '08

Mother

© Marian N. Kehrley

I watched my Mom fill out an application.
I looked at the line that asks about past professions.
I thought to myself, that space is too small
To write down what she's been, to cover it all.
She was a nurse when I fell and scraped my knee.
She was a maid when I didn't wipe my feet.
She was a designer when my clothes didn't match.
She was a tailor when my pants needed a patch.
She was a teacher when I asked a question.
She was a priest when I had a confession.
She was a psychiatrist when I came home crying.
She was a preacher when I got caught lying.
She was a singer when she sung me to sleep.
She was a lifeguard when she said the water's too deep.
There are many more, yet the best one to me,
She was a best friend and mine forever she'll be.
i know i haven't been updating as often as i should be, but hey, free time is a premium and on times when i'm not out there pushing sales (largely and sadly by lying) to most of the neighbourhood tai-tais with too much $$ to spend on some less-than-decent costume jewelleries, i practically have been watching LOTS of drama series at home my computer's gonna explode! ok, i'm actually following most of the girly/chick-ish series such as gossip girl, desperate housewives, cashmere mafia as well as antm and project runway. they're still my favourites seeing that they are some easy, laid-back, dramatised, and for the lack of a better word, banal shows which i can enjoy while multitasking ehh like reading magazines, talking on the phone, chatting on MSN or chewing on some seaweed. buttt don't be quick to judge that i'm some dumb blonde cos i do dig intelligent (ok not so, maybe brainy is a better word choice) shows like PRISON BREAK and THE APPRENTICE! ohh how i miss prison break, but why are they stopping at S03E13?? the show is so not like others of its type where they just ream out junk plots and ended up making you yawn after a few episodes. it's just so exciting; every ending makes you crave for the next episode. i've never been so hooked since gilmore girls and the o.c. scofield charms you with his brains and confidence (no mention necessary on his look), abruzzi the eccentric mob boss appeals to me i don't know why, and lincoln, sucre, the natural understated beauty sarah, gross T-bag and C-note all contrive to make the show unstoppable. "I'M GETTING YOU OUT OF HERE." that's a line you won't get sick of. i bet you agree with me. and as of the apprentice; i only started getting addicted when yuli brought 2-seasons worth of discs back from china. i used to dismiss the show as some dreary ones which merely emphasise on the monotonous corporate/business world exaggerated by labels like donald trump. and i only gave the show a second chance when it hit me that: this might be the world i'm throwing myself into in the not-so-distant future! especially with all the university application anxiety, i find that i can (surprisingly) relate to the show! but still, i just hate the way donald fires talented people whom i've come to love and support from the show! like heidi, for instance. she deserves much better really.

major shopping trip with peter today! so we practically ventured the whole orchard/scotts rd. in short, peter bought like 2 pants, a pair of DC shoes, ear piece, knee guard (?), and had both lunch & dinner outside! i bought 2 pants and a pair of flats from SCHU (pretty ex; $44!) i didn't plan to buy the flats but when i went there and there was only one pair left of the grey colour and it was my size, thus i just grab them! sigghhh need to control my finance better man. but today was lots of fun despite the dreadfully long 518 rides! :| so peter basically got everything he planned to buy except a schoolbag. he wanted to get the limited edition crumpler but it was $175 and i didn't think it's worth the price tag. so he didn't buy. oh yea, btw mr pet is a lousy shopper! every single thing he owns is chosen by me i think! he really has no idea what's nice and what's not i tell you! haha no offence but shopping with him needs lots of patience. he needs to buy stationery before sch starts. his orientation is on tuesday; the same day yuli'll be back! looking forward to that day. i think my pillow is fantastic; it kind of improves my sleep believe it or not. i'm tiredddd (slept on the bus till got my head knocked on the glass how embarrassing) cos my mom called at 10 am and woke me up to chat. after that i can't sleep anymore :( i think my dad approves of my plan to go australia! he's interested too. coolness. alright that's abt it. till my next post!

SMU INTERVIEW

took a cab ($22!) and rushed down to the school of acc/law building. i was the second candidate to be interviewed! that's pretty scary. while waiting, chatted with a raffles jc girl. she's so nice that we talked like as if we knew each other for years. so it was a 2to1 kind, whereby my interviewers are this (quite) old lady and a male senior i guess. they greeted me veryyy warmly and everything. they kept asking me questions! ok let me try to list here the questions they threw at me:
1) why SMU & why accountancy (i prepared for this but only the latter part)
2) tell me more abt your family + hobbies + student council life
3) what did i do for my project work
4) what other schools did i apply to and when i said NTU, whether i have gotten any feedback yet
5) how do i think i will contribute to SMU
6) do i have any idea what an accontant does (omg i crapped my way through, honestly i don't!) and whether i have a friend who's an accountant
7) how do i see myself upon graduation
8) why my course choices are so diversed
9) and other small reply-type of questions like what book do i read, how am i in class and stuff
i think that's about it. i felt like walking out of the interview room at one point i tell you! the thing is, the boy asked most of the questions so naturally i have to make more eye contact with him and i'm afraid the professor will feel neglected and offended! siggghhh. i think i screwed this one up haha. the interview was supposed to be 15 mins but mine was prob like 30 mins! and nothing of current affairs! (which i have been forcibly following everyday just to be on the safe side!) alright nuff said. don't wanna think abt it.

bye world.
xoxo
