attended the 2-hrs talk on the major. wow, i definitely sensed the difference in the things that are to be learnt here. everything isn't such clear-cut anymore, as in like up to jc level, i've gotten used to the 'subjects' type learning. when we're doing maths, then it's all about numbers and equations and calculators, when it's physics then it's stricly pain-in-the-ass formulaes and there's no interlink and minimal intersection of the things you learn. anddd, here's the catch.. YOU HAVE NEITHER SLIGHTEST IDEA NOR CONCERN OF WHY AND WHAT FOR YOU'RE LEARNING IT AT ALL. and to speak heart-to-heart, i have no problem with the system. i just care to make sure i score well for each tests and ace those exams. but today, it hit me that there's no such thing as learning just for the sake of getting As anymore. all the things i've previously learnt from maths (mainly), econs, physics are all jumbled up and interrelated to one another to make up a major. and in the unfortunate event that i decided to take up this major, i would have to deal with more terrifying formulaes, stock market, shares, debts and whatever else that is equally frightening! but apparently the DBS manager who came to share his view encouraged us to take as it's useful. APPARENTLY. but i got a feeling i'd flunk leee if i take! :(

after the talk (which felt forever) and some top-notch refreshments, we (SA ppl) had some major retail theraphy. i (surprise!) spent unnecesarily again. the stuff i bought are great finds though! :D

ok, planned to go for matriculation on the 8th of july with SA ppl but theirs is the first half (A-L) and mine (M) is unfortunately the second half at 2 pm. but geri was suggesting that i come earlier to have the library training with them then go with charis (the new girl from nyjc i know today) for matriculation. so i'd do that then.

note to self: COLLECT MEDICAL REPORT tmr.

ystd:
brought comp for re-formatting to SLS (got charged $50 argghh)
watched GET SMART.
omfg this movie encapsulates everything a GREAT comedy show should be!
agent 86 is retarded with a capital R and is wayyy too self-absorbed. agent 99 is hot but too sobersided and agent 23 can't be an antagonist for nuts but he's got a great bod no doubts.
like seriously, go catch this one. immediate.
even if you've never been a die-hard fan of comedies, i still think you'll pretty much enjoy giggling away watching it.
afterwards, i actually wanna shop around but then NO CHANCE.
:|

today:
WORK. check. FULL HOURS. check.
NO LIFE TODAY. double check!
my boss was notably sunshiny today, she came to the shop just to welcome me back and supposedly 'catch up' with me! i could feel she was particularly nice today.
the sign in search of a new girl has been put up in my shop already.
PAYDAY. my pay seems to escalate each time i received. but then again, it's a good thing. so i'm totally not complaining here :)

tmr:
SMU quantitative finance major talk.
what in the world is that!!
exactly.
that's why i need to go!

yesterday:
medical check-up!
peter bailed on me :( left with no choice, alone off i went to raffles medical changi airport T3 early in the morning! i had my blood, urine and X-ray samples taken (and yeahhhh it involved INJECTION). there's this one young male indo doctor who took my blood pressure and he was really friendly asking me stuff like where did i come from and what am i studying in SMU (in indo language). i find his mannerism very pleasant i'm not sure why. it's not all sunshiny though, i encountered a serious problem regarding the extraction of urine sample, i spent close to half an hour in the toilet stressing! (i even called yuli cos too frustrated and following her advice, i gulped down my whole water bottle!) and when the receptionist called to check on my wherebeing, i was like "i'm sorry but i have problems producing half a bottle of urine" !! goodness how humiliating. but in the end she told me it's alright they don't really need that much. tell me earlier laaa! :| i ended up submitting merely a quarter of the bottle.

today:
meet-up with the lovelyyy geri! didn't really plan but we caught The Incredible Hulk movie. not too bad i must say. then we shopped around (she bought 3 tops at one go and i bought a cute scarf!) and we even went to try
on suits and office skirts ( ohh i love the suitsss, we looked good in them!) we'll need to own formal wear sometime soon. so geri was saying since it's still GSS, it's worth considering buying now. afterwards she treated me to some chippys and we sat down at PS to have a long chat before heading to borders (OUR fave place!) to browse some books. such perfect date! :D so it's like she'll be enrolling in SMU bussiness and i'll be in SMU accountancy. i knew some more people who're going to be in my faculty too! and surprisingly, they are the smart and mostly playful girls who are far from nerdy! :) and geri told me that SMU is very competitive as in everyone fights for their As. and of course the infamous rumour that SMU undergrads are super vocal! so it's like talk talk talk all the time. rubbish also just talk. that's what the professor said haha. after hanging out with geri today, i find myself feeling fortunate to be accepted and am actually looking forward to it ( i don't necessarily have the same sentiment before).
home at 11 pm. the thought of selling away my PC crossed my mind when i remembered geri mentioned that we should buy the notebooks offered by SMU cos all the necessary programmes would be provided completely and we'll need it for the endless projects. i used to think i don't really need nor wish for a new lappy but then on second thought, it's more practical and reasonable for me to own a laptop instead of a PC for the sole reason that i no longer need it to play games (the sims). so maybe i will end up ordering from SMU afterall. then got some drama about unknown spills on the floor near the broom at home. peter and me came up with so many potential hypotheses and possible scenarios (which, of course, do not make the slightest sense) of how the spills came about. annoyingly, we are still clueless as to what's it actually! i hate. so gross please.

first and foremost let me just get it out of the way,
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
to my dad and the rest of the fathers/fathers-to-be out in the world.
it's funny how the society tends to be less festive when it comes to father's day;
or should i say how mother's day is wayy more exaggerated from time immemorial.
don't you think.
i will very conveniently assume here it's all about girl power! :)

today saw me parting ways with my $$ again, this time for the exchange of a black GUESS wallet and an eccentric pencil/makeup case. i'm just glad i controlled myself well enough not to end up with another GUESS handbag! all the SALE SALE SALE makes everything superficially cheap and guess what, you spending more than you planned to.
let's all blame the GSS!

despite all, exceptionally pleasant outing/shopping trip with my sis!
:D

I DREAD TOMORROW'S CHECK-UP.
