attended the 2-hrs talk on the major. wow, i definitely sensed the difference in the things that are to be learnt here. everything isn't such clear-cut anymore, as in like up to jc level, i've gotten used to the 'subjects' type learning. when we're doing maths, then it's all about numbers and equations and calculators, when it's physics then it's stricly pain-in-the-ass formulaes and there's no interlink and minimal intersection of the things you learn. anddd, here's the catch.. YOU HAVE NEITHER SLIGHTEST IDEA NOR CONCERN OF WHY AND WHAT FOR YOU'RE LEARNING IT AT ALL. and to speak heart-to-heart, i have no problem with the system. i just care to make sure i score well for each tests and ace those exams. but today, it hit me that there's no such thing as learning just for the sake of getting As anymore. all the things i've previously learnt from maths (mainly), econs, physics are all jumbled up and interrelated to one another to make up a major. and in the unfortunate event that i decided to take up this major, i would have to deal with more terrifying formulaes, stock market, shares, debts and whatever else that is equally frightening! but apparently the DBS manager who came to share his view encouraged us to take as it's useful. APPARENTLY. but i got a feeling i'd flunk leee if i take! :(

after the talk (which felt forever) and some top-notch refreshments, we (SA ppl) had some major retail theraphy. i (surprise!) spent unnecesarily again. the stuff i bought are great finds though! :D

ok, planned to go for matriculation on the 8th of july with SA ppl but theirs is the first half (A-L) and mine (M) is unfortunately the second half at 2 pm. but geri was suggesting that i come earlier to have the library training with them then go with charis (the new girl from nyjc i know today) for matriculation. so i'd do that then.

note to self: COLLECT MEDICAL REPORT tmr.
